Internet Innovators — NANOG

Host & Producer

Internet Innovators is an interview series featuring the pioneers who built and shaped the Internet. Through intimate, long-form conversations, the series captures the personal stories, pivotal moments, and ideas behind the evolution of the Internet that we depend on today.

As host and producer, I led conversations with the Internet’s most legendary and influential figures, including Internet Hall of Fame: Vint Cerf, Leonard Kleinrock, Steve Crocker, Geoff Huston, Scott Bradner, Nii Quaynor, and others. These coffee table conversations told the history of the Internet through the stories of the humans that made it possible.

Produced for the North American Network Operators’ Group (NANOG).

Australian Father of the Internet - Geoff Huston

Leave it to Internet Hall of Fame Global Connector + Chief Scientist for APNIC, Geoff Huston to Make the Grimmest Parts of the Internet Sound Charming.

Maybe it’s his sparkling wit, pleasant demeanor, (or maybe even) the Australian accent that makes all hard pills a little easier to swallow. In this episode, of “Internet Innovators” Huston explains why we need to continue to address the elephants in the room, the importance of learning how to do public speaking in this industry or as he says, “how to make an impact to a room full of geeks.”  We also get to hear more about Huston’s childhood in Australia and what made him the man he is today.
